Account setup
Is MyNORSU Social the same as the MyNORSU LMS?
No. MyNORSU Social is for campus communication and engagement. The MyNORSU LMS is the academic platform for courses, assignments, learning materials, grades, schedules, and class records.
Do I need to register in MyNORSU Social before using the LMS?
Yes. New users create their MyNORSU Social account first. That same account is then used to sign in to the LMS.
Which login do I use for the LMS?
Use the same account you created in MyNORSU Social. If you have not registered there yet, complete that step first. Then, open the LMS.
I opened the LMS but can't sign in. What should I do?
Most likely, you have not created your MyNORSU account yet. Go back to Step 1, register through MyNORSU Social, and then return to the LMS with the same account.
iPhone access
I have an iPhone or iPad. Where do I open MyNORSU?
iPhone, iPad, and desktop users open the MyNORSU web version at
https://web.mynorsu.social/. Afterward, you can add it to your Home Screen for app-like access.
How do I add MyNORSU to my iPhone or iPad Home Screen?
First, open
https://web.mynorsu.social/ in Safari on iPhone or iPad. Next, tap the Share button. Then, choose Add to Home Screen for quicker access.
Courses and classwork
I can't see my LMS courses yet. Is something wrong?
Not necessarily. Your course may not have been added, published, or assigned yet. Wait for your lecturer or the responsible university staff to make it available.
Can lecturers use the LMS for face-to-face classes?
Yes. The LMS supports face-to-face, blended, and online learning. Lecturers can share materials, post assignments, record scores, and send updates even when classes meet in person.
Can students still submit work on paper?
Yes, if the lecturer allows it. The LMS supports manual score entry, so lecturers can record scores for work submitted on paper or completed outside the online flow.
Lecturer and student tools
What can lecturers do in the LMS?
Lecturers can create and manage courses. They can share learning materials, post assignments, receive submissions, record grades, manage calendars, and communicate class updates.
What can students do in the LMS?
Students can view enrolled courses, access learning materials, check assignments, and submit work where required. They can also review feedback, monitor scores, and stay on top of class requirements.
